Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco - an Canadian and American artist and singer. There are more than 20 albums. Her music is categorized as folk and alternative rock but she also draws influences of jazz and hip-hop. Widely considered a feminist icon Grammy award winner Ani DiFranco is considered to be the father of the DIY movement and is among the first artists to create her own record label in 1990. DiFranco was the child of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They met at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father was Italian heritage and her mother was from Montreal. Ani DiFranco composed and performed 32 Flavors. This song appears on her album Not a Pretty Girl released in 1995. On the soundtrack of 1999's Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate is a variation of this song. DiFranco apologized for holding a conference in Louisiana in an old slave plantation.
